Creating a Tri-Fold Brochure with Word
|
 |
1. Open a Word document. Go to FILE and PAGE SETUP. Choose the MARGINS tab and set all of the margins to
.5". Choose the PAPER SIZE tab and click on LANDSCAPE. (This will turn your paper sideways.)
2. Go to FORMAT and COLUMNS.
Choose 3 columns.
3. Go to INSERT and PAGE BREAK. Now you have 2 pages with 3 columns each.
4. One of the
most confusing things about creating a brochure is understanding where everything goes. The outside page must have
3 separate columns of information. The inside page can have information that covers 1, 2, or 3 columns.
5. Enter
all text as TEXT BOXES. (Go to INSERT and TEXT BOX.) Or use WORD ART. (The blue "A" that shows at an angle in your drawing
toolbar at the bottom of the page.)
6. Graphics can be inserted from a file (Go to INSERT and PICTURE) or copied and
pasted.
7. When you are done, print page one. Put the printed page back in the printer drawer, print side up, and
print page two. Make sure the top of the document is on the right.
You may need to change the margins for widen the column guides (FORMAT and COLUMNS; then increase the numbers
in the SPACING box.)
